What to Wear at Playful Paths
Our sessions are in a wild environment and take place outdoors all year round – rain or shine – so it’s essential that everyone comes dressed for the weather and prepared for mud, nettles, water play, and woodland terrain.
General Clothing Guidance:
- Our site is naturally muddy and includes water and messy play in all sessions – waterproof clothing is recommended in every season.
- Please don’t wear your best clothes! Expect to get wet, dirty, and fully immersed in nature.
- Footwear must be closed-toe, sturdy and suitable for uneven, muddy ground.
- Nettles, brambles and other scratchy sharp hazards are present, so we ask that children and adults wear long sleeves and trousers.
- In colder months, layers are your best friend. Keep warm and dry by dressing in multiple layers and bringing spares just in case.
Recommended Kit for All Sessions:
- Waterproof jacket and trousers or an all-in-one waterproof suit
- Wellies, walking boots or other sturdy, closed-toe shoes
- Long-sleeved tops and full-length trousers
- Multiple warm layers (especially in colder months)
- A full change of clothes for the journey home
- A named bag for muddy or wet kit
